Welcome to DJN!

The Organisation

»If you want to change the world you first have to learn to understand it« – this is exactly what the members of DJN aim at.
We are a group of young people aged 12 to 27 who actively take part in shaping our future close to nature. For 60 years we have been active throughout Germany and internationally.

One of our fundamental believes is that we have to find a way to stop exploiting nature as a foundation of our existence.
Wouldn’t it be great to use nature sustainably and effectively? In order to achieve this, extensive knowledge is needed, which is no longer learned at school or from one’s parents. The DJN gives you the possibility to increase your
knowledge!

What do we do?

  • We are an organisation with enthusiastic people and without hierarchic structures. We go outdoors together and discover nature following the concept of learning by doing. On our excursions everyone can take an active part and share his or her knowledge.
  • We are in contact with a range of organisations from Germany and are a member of the YEE network (Youth and Environment Europe) which provides us with the possibility to co-operate with other EU- and also non-EU countries on the international level. If you want so join an international project, look at the calls for partners on the YEE website!
  • We invite politicians and scientists from all green domains to our seminars during which we pepper them with our questions.
  • We discuss ecological, societal, political and cultural topics.
  • We actively support many eco-political initiatives.
  • We organise ourselves autonomously! – Independently, above party lines, with bottom-up decision-making and at grass-roots level.

Everyone can participate and play a part in the DJN. Everyone is welcome to bring in a topic of his or her interest in order to discuss it or learn more about it!
Come and join us and contribute to a network completely run by young people. For a self-determined, better world!

Are you up for discovering nature together with enjoyable people? Do you like trips to interesting places and regions?

Come along!

In order to participate in our activities you do not have to be a member. The only requirements are that you are curious and between 12 and 27 years old.

What kind of activities are there?

There are two major events every year, the Winter Seminar (WiSe) and the Easter Congress From the 27th of December until the 2nd of January we hold our Winter Seminar with
many workshops, discussions, presentations and, of course, the celebration of New Year’s Eve.
The Easter Congress is our annual meeting: The new executive board is elected there and plans for the following year are made.
Beside these two fixed events, there are a range of seminars, workshops, spring, summer and autumn camps about different topics. If you would like to know more about current seminars, just contact us.
